Local Favor LLC
Local Favor LLC is a family owned business headquartered in Keene, New Hampshire. With a firm belief that the "key" to economic recovery is found on a "buy local" key chain. We introduced The Local Favor Community Value Card to Cheshire County (the Monadnock Region of New Hampshire) in November of 2011. Shortly thereafter we brought the concept to Hillsboro, Rockingham and Strafford Counties. With over 125 participating merchants and just under 1000 cards placed into circulation to date, Local Favor is poised to expand the card into other NH Counties throughout 2012. Local Favor LLC is proud to do business exclusively with NH-Based businesses. We use a Keene, NH Graphic Designer/ Printer for all cards and marketing supplies that we produce. We us a Keene, NH Certified Public Accountant for tax preparation and advice. and a law firm headquartered in Portsmouth, NH.
The Local Favor Merchant Network
In cooperation with our vision to expand the economy throughout The State of New Hampshire, our entire retailer network is made up of locally owned, NH-based businesses. We do not affiliate with any national chains nor do we promote any out of state companies. This perpetuates a "multiplier effect", leveraging the impact of local spending while keeping our customer's dollars in their own community. It costs absolutely nothing for the first 50 merchants in each county to join our movement, conversely, they all receive free advertising and enjoy the marketing benefits of our powerful "buy local" model. Once we have populated a county with 50 "charter merchants' we ask new members to commit to a monthly or annual purchase of Local Favor Cards for resale. The only participation requirement is that the retailer add value to the card by offering an incentive to shoppers who present their card at time of purchase. Our merchant partners determine their own level of commitment; some retailers offer a discount, though we find that often the rewards with the greatest perceived value are those that actually cost the merchant the least! All participating merchants are eligible to purchase cards at wholesale prices for the purpose of selling the cards at retail. This profitable opportunity offsets the opportunity cost of participation.
The Local Favor Community Value Card
Our card encourages a buy local mentality by rewarding shoppers with additional value whenever they present their card to participating retailers all over New Hampshire This community value card counteracts the economic drain national chains place on our communities; uniting local independents into a powerful retailer network. The card leverages the individual rewards, that each merchant extends, into a significant savings opportunity for the residents & visitors of the Granite State. The card can be purchased from participating retailers or online at localfavor.com for only $10.00 & will be valid for at least one year from the date of purchase. Local Favor LLC confidently guarantees that the card will pay for itself at least 5 times over, or it will be renewed for a second year at no cost.
The Local Favor Shopper
The Local Favor Shopper can find the most up to date directory of participating merchants on the Local Favor website, or use their smart phone to query the QR bar code, printed on the back of the card, for instant access to the directory anytime. There is no limit to the number of times a valid card may be used anywhere in the network.
Local Favor Non-Profit Beneficiaries
Local Favor LLC donates up to 30% of all profits from cards that are sold on this site to charitable organizations within the county of record for each card that we sell.
Currently, when a shopper purchases the card, they can choose to earmark a 10% donation, to one of many NH-based non-profits.
